Don't blame your lack of tact on the behavior of others.

For what it's worth, I just switched from DVD Profiler to Ant Movie Database and I'm pretty pleased.

With Profiler I had to pull down all my DVDs and enter them by UPC, which while it gave me great accurate listings, was a pain. With Ant, the title was good enough so I could sit across the room from my shelves and enter stuff. But I did have to download art for maybe 1/4 of my catalog to get it matching.

The export to HTML feature in Ant is pretty limited, but w/ a bit of HTML knowledge it's not hard to tweak the results.

Again, all in all I'm pleased. Thanks for the rec.

Is it a site where you can store your collection, or an application that you download? And could you provide an web address too, please?

And... I second that "thanks for getting us back on track." ;)

I've been using Delicious Library (Mac only): http://www.delicious-monster.com/

It's a program you have to download to your desktop. It uses amazon.com as the data source so if the DVD is on amazon it will pull in all the information. It can also handle any other product that is for sale on amazon (I use it to keep track of who I lent my trades to). It can also export to a site so you can share your library online.

I like it a lot and have been using it for 2 years now. Great interface and worth the price.

No one likes a derail :)

Ant ... http://www.antp.be/software/moviecatalog (thanks to lothario's previous post)

It's software. But has an export to html feature. So you can post your catalog online if you have a server etc.

I'd be interested in an online one as well. Too bad I just missed the boat on DVDSpot.

no its not too bad... cause you didnt spend all the time entering your collection and making corrections and entries for nothing.

I LOVED Dvdspot then the disaster came and it was shut down. I tried getting into DvdAF but after DVDSpot it doesn't do anything for me. However, there is a new DVD site up that I quite enjoy. It is still in the early stages but has very high potential.

www.DvdCount.com

Again, it is still in the early stages but lots of progress has been made and it should be one of the top DVD cataloging sites in no time.

I use DVDAF.com It's really easy, and you can set your "folders" to be whatever you want, so if you wanted to name them "Box 2" or "Box B" or whatever, you can. You can also override the sort option, so if say you wanted a movie like Raiders of the Lost Ark to be before Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, you could sort Raiders as "Indiana Jones 1" and ToD as "Indiana Jones 2" and so on and so forth.

Great site.
