Groo wanders to a tavern, wherein he finds the Minstrel singing of a gallant hero loved by all...of course, the opposite of Groo. This turns out to be Arcadio, the almost unbelievably arrogant and muscled rival of Groo for the affections of the world. Groo winds up as a lackey to Arcadio as the latter sets off to regain a fabled Goblet to save his town from an evil spell. In the course of things, Groo slays a dragon, storms a castle, and recovers the goblet...all of these things, of course, are accredited to Arcadio by the Minstrel and by all present. In the end, Groo comes to think of Arcadio as a great hero, and they ponce off to part two of their adventure, chronicled in Epic 11.
