Seren, an apprentice weaver, is destined to bear the next Penmerlin, but she ha been taken prisoner by Kerrigan, the demon king of Camelot. Kerrigan sttes that he will trade Seren's life for King Arthur's Round Table--a powerful magical object help by the Lords of Avalon--but Seren fears that Kerrigan catually plans to kill her.
But who in this decadently cruel kingdom can be trusted? Lord Kerrigan is evil--Seren has seen h im slaughter one of his own knights for Morgen Le Fey's pleasure--but he has also protected her from the boundless ire of that wicked mistress of magic.
