Synopsis:
A poor prince woos the haughty daughter of the Emperor with simple but lovely gifts which she rejects. When he disguises himself as a swineherd and construct some toys in his odd hours, she humiliates herself to obtain the trifles.

Notes:
Based on "The Swineherd" by Hans Christian Andersen. The prince's tutor and the princess's attendant, Celia, are not found in Andersen. In Andersen, the tale ends with the princess being rejected by the prince. In the CIJ edition however, the tale ends happily with the two marrying. Artists unknown. The volume contains three other features.
