Secret Invasion

Carol Danvers returned to Manhattan to learn it's raining Skrulls. She also learns something else: ever since House of M, she's felt as though a part of her life was missing, but now she knows what it is. She misses war. She misses being a soldier. She misses the focus on unrestrained combat.

The Skrulls gave that back to her. This may not have been their smartest move.
