X-Factor felt that they'd done a good thing when they reunited the mutant Darwin with his father. So they were naturally upset when Darwin's father turned up with a bullet wound to the head. Using Longshot's telemetry, the team learns that Darwin was sold by his father, but instead of the money he was promised, Hector Munoz was shot instead.

Now the team hits the streets to try, once again, to find Darwin.
