Synopsis: A boy's parents are taken from him by 'green people' who come out of a hotel wall one evening while on vacation. Twenty years later, after becoming an expert on the occult, he returns to the scene in order to face down the 'green people'. His parents appear to him, saying they missed him, and invite him to journey with them to a land where they are happy and do not age. He is indecisive because he simultaneously wishes to remain on earth and misses his parents.
Synopsis: One Day a soldier mysteriously appears in the middle of a man's living room and begins issuing orders to the man's family. He has his wife scrub the floor multiple times before the husband is fed up with the bullying and stands up to the soldier. Just as suddenly as he appeared, the soldier disappears. The reader is presented with a scene of a little girl and her mother who comments that her friend must have left that toy soldier in her doll house the last time her was over. She laughs and gives her daughter a wink saying 'I hope the soldier didn't frighten your doll house family too much.'
Synopsis: A man breaks out of jail on the edge of a desert and vows to cross it. Unfortunately, while a guard fired at him, he must have hit the canteen he prepared as it is now empty. As he pushes himself to crest a dune, he spies an oasis with beautiful women. He rationalizes that it must be a mirage and pushes himself to continue following the compass he has crafted deeper into the desert. After he is gone, the beautiful women wonder why the stranger turned away.
Synopsis: A boy stows away on a rocketship and the crew are most displeased to discover him, until he fixes some damage outside the ship picked up on its space voyage, since he is the only one small enough to fit into the duct.
Synopsis: A test pilot sees a viking sailor and a young woman standing outside his cockpit during one of his flights. He exits his plane and walks over to speak with them. The viking tells him that he has entered a 'dreamer's world' a place where people like himself, who has been dead over a thousand years after sailing off the edge of a flat world, end up. Other types like would-be world conquers end up here too, and are just as disliked. The woman protests that she's not dead, and the pilot realizes that she must be in trouble in the world they came from. Just as they are about to register as citizens in the Dream World, the pilot grabs her by the hand and the two of them make a break for the jet cockpit. Once he lands, she is nowhere in sight, but he knows to find her passed out in a room of smoldering dangerous chemicals. She revives as he pulls her into fresh air and she recognizes him as the man she shared her vision with.
