Synopsis:
"The Search for Smilin' Ed," a graphic novel-length story that is serialized over several issues, starts off here with a 48-page chapter — this issue is cover-to-cover Kim Deitch, in his first comix work in two years.
Kim Deitch's musings on the whereabouts of a classic TV children's show host led him into "The Search for Smilin' Ed." But soon his quest is derailed as Waldo the Cat, irritated at having been shunted from Kim's stories, muscles his way back into the limelight and starts off his own parallel investigation, accompanied by his new demon pals.
