After disposing of the body of his clone in an incinerator, Spider-man and his friends attend a party in the honor of Ned Leeds and Betty Brant's upcoming wedding hosted by J. Jonah Jameson. While there, strange blackouts plague the city and Spidey determines the culprit to be the Shocker, who gets the advantage over Spidey, trapping him in a sewer rapidly filling with water!
