Letters Column: Avengers Assemble!
Ant man (Hank) attacks the Avengers. He thinks that the Avengers have just formed, and that the current Avengers are intruders or, in the case of Iron Man, an imposter. He is eventually defeated, thanks to the Wasp. Janet then explains how Hank has been depressed lately, mainly because of failures in the lab. She even secretly saw a therapist for help with Hank. Things seemed to be getting better. Then, just the day before, Hank flew off without a word. She hadn't seen him since. Janet saw the lab in ruins. After Hank's defeat, the Beast drives Janet home. Meanwhile, the Avengers' call to Hawkeye goes unanswered, as he and the Two-Gun Kid are working on a dude ranch, and Clint did not receive the call. The Beast comes back to Avenger Mansion, alone and badly beaten. Ultron-7 arrives seconds later, and a battle ensues. Ultron defeats the Avengers, and leaves with Hank Pym.
