This book presents a bit of a problem for the serious Star Wars chronologist because it appears to have been released on exactly the same day as issue 3 of the Attack of the Clones adaptation. It is thus tricky to say which issue marks the first appearance of Count Dooku. However, it's generally held that this is his first appearance, perhaps mainly because, all other things being equal, you then move to which is the earlier chronological appearance. Some indexes have this issue as "April 2002", which would clearly put it a month before Attack of the Clones #3, but the Dark Horse website says the release dates are exactly the same.

In this same vein, Jango Fett's first appearance narrowly misses being this issue, he having appeared in the AOTC adaptation's first issue a mere week before (24 April 2002).
