With the trap set last issue now sprung, the Manhunters begin their all-out assault on Oa. The Manhunters are revealed to have been the pre-cursors to the Green Lantern Corps, and they intend to regain what they consider to be their birthright. In attacking Oa, they hope to displace the Guardians and the Green Lantern Corps, coming into sole possession of the main Green Lantern battery. Only the Justice League, clearly led here by Hal Jordan, stand in their way . . .
Roughly speaking, this issue corresponds to part 2 of the Bruce Timm Justice League animated story, "In Blackest Night".
Contains a two page flashback of JLA #41 "100 Issues Ago In..."
