13-year old gay youth Shannon is bullied at school getting little relief or sympathy from the adults in his life or at school. Only when he imagines himself as a super-hero can he get through the daily grind of bullying and can he manage to teach the bullies a lesson.

One day, another student stands up for him against some bullies and Shannon draws a picture of his real-life hero and sticks it in the boy's locker. But the other boy is not appreciative which leads Shannon to a dangerous point.

Other contributions include bonus pin-up pages by Dan Parent, Stephen Sadowski and Carla Speed McNeil, a pair of one-page strips from Andy Mangels & Donna Barr and Gail Simone & Phil Jimenez, and a two-page strip by Greg Rucka & Matthew Clark.

The issue was also available for free to schools and youth groups with a series of suggested discussion questions listed on the inside back cover. Also listed are phone numbers and websites for the Trevor Project, GLSEN and the It Gets Better Project.
