Synopsis:
While under attack by a Hanriot, Hans von Hammer manages to defeat a Martinsyde with his Fokker before he is finally wounded by the Hanriot pilot. On the flight back to base he meets the Hangman who signals that he is out of ammo. The two enemies thus depart peacefully safe in the knowledge there'll come another day to fight it out. With his wounds then treated Hans finds his depressions and self-doubts increasing but nonetheless is in combat again only a short while later with the Hangman chasing his tail. After having blown up two French reconnaissance balloons Hans safely returns to base and decides to go hunting in the woods where he meets his only friend Black Wolf...
