In an attempt to eradicate evil, the Divine offer Trigon up to the Heart, a creation consisting of all evil souls of one hundred galaxies. When the Heart attempts to consume Trigon's soul, Trigon instead absorbs all the power of the Heart and uses said power to destroy the Divine.
Trigon finds himself trapped behind a barrier even his vast power is incapable of breaching. Yet he finds he can bring others into his domain. His agenda is to mate with the females of other worlds thus resurrecting himself. His plan falters when his brides die during conception or commit suicide.
Trigon has conquered many galaxies until he meets some resistance in the form of a female adorned in spiked mystical armor named Alazandria. They come to a stand still, but it would seem her descendents are fated to inherit the magical armor for Trigon has promised his vengeance.
Trigon continues his search for brides when an Earth woman named Arella offers herself to him. She later reveals that was how Raven was conceived. Trigon plots to destroy all the men of Earth so he can use the women to create his demon army to conquer universe after universe.
