Miranda thought she was a thoroughly normal British teenager of the 1980s. She was wrong.
Pulled from what she thought was her life, Miranda suddenly finds herself in the far-flung future, the apparent heir of the Imperial Family, firmly ensconced in the politics and power of a life she never envisioned.
Her birth-father, whom she also never knew, was once the Emperor, back when the Empire existed as a unified whole. But his assassination plunged his former realm into the chaos of civil war.
One of the factions vying for control of this future is the one that had spirited her away to 1980s Earth in the first place. Led by Prefect Ferran, this faction is the one that most closely upholds the values of the old Empire. Thus, their purpose of hiding the heir to the throne was to be able to bring her back one day so she could reunite the factions.
Unfortunately, the other factions don't seem to particularly want reunification, and so would rather see her dead. As she begins fending off various assassination attempts, she is given an even ominous warning: Ferran himself merely intends restore the Imperial Family through her--and then kill her, so he can assume control.
The bulk of the story is in black and white, with a full-color centerfold.
