Rom and Odo's new deputy, Etana Kol, search DS9's waste reclamation units for the women that were abducted in the last issue. Chief among these, as far as Rom's concerned, is Leeta. Bashir manages to determine that the creature feeds off of female hormones. It's in for a bit of a surprise, though, when it tries to absorb Lwaxana Troi's hormones, especially those she's giving out at her wedding. When the thing is neutralized after making its attempt on Troi, she calls off the wedding after finding her Bolian lover cowering under a table...and also because she discovers that he was only marrying her for her money. However she is delighted to hear that Odo never got round to signing the divorce papers...
