Three years ago, on the eve of what was supposed to be a new era for the people of Shidima, Aldaran betrayed his friends to the emperor, crushing a rebellion that had taken over three years to create. With the mysterious resurrection of the rebellion in Shidima, Aldaran sets out to find his former comrades. The survivors of the old rebellion however, are less than happy to see him, facing Aldaran with threats from every direction as Hakara and Mitsuro proceed on a search of their own for the enemies of the empire.
