The house is destroyed ny the hurricanse and Najagarjuk is killed while Swamp Thing attempts to protect everyone attempting to restore Tefé. The Grey are temporarily warded off, but Swamp Thing does not have enough power to protect Tefé on his own, so he takes her to the Parliament of Trees. On the way, he is assaulted by his predecessor Swamp Thing (Allan Hallman), who has allied with the Grey.

Even without Tefé present, one of Matango's minions chases a broken-legged Abby and Brenda into a tower, where he is ultimately defeated by a returning Swamp Thing.
