Synopsis:
Lord Straxus is furious. Despite having captured the scientist Spanner and put him to work developing a space bridge so that he can send reinforcements to Megatron and Co. on Earth, the bridge keeps malfunctioning and destroying every warrior Straxus sends across it.
While Blaster spies on the Decepticons, Shrapnel contacts Spanner to determine the cause of the defect before Straxus wastes more of his troops. The flaw is discovered and fixed, while Blaster is picked up by Powerglide and returned to resistance HQ with his report.
Back on earth, Donnie Finkleberg (aka Robot Master) pushes Megatron's patience nearly to the breaking point and indirectly causes another scuffle between Shockwave and the Decepticon leader over appropriate uses of time and energy. Donnie knows he's got to warn the Autobots, but with Ravage breathing down his neck he's got no idea how to get away from the coal mine.
Armed with the knowledge that the Decepticons are close to making the space bridge fully functional, and over Blaster's protests that they need to rescue Spanner, Perceptor decides that this is their last chance to stop Straxus and orders a full assault. While the largest wave of Autobots takes on Straxus's troops, a second covert group drills underground to plant explosives under Darkmount. Blaster sneaks to the bridge to plant explosives. To Blaster's surprise, the bridge transforms partially, revealing that Straxus simply turned Spanner into the space bridge itself. Spanner begs for Blaster to destroy the bridge and end his miserable existence.
The Autobots manage to destroy Straxus's fortress, but Straxus himself is unharmed and joins the fray personally until he notices Blaster mucking about on his bridge, and lands to challenge him in combat. The rest of Blaster's friends who are still standing rush to the bridge to aid him, and Straxus is destroyed when Blaster tricks him into severing a fuel line and kicks him off the side of the bridge.
While the remaining Decepticons flee, the Autobots rush across the destabilizing bridge and find themselves on Earth, facing a less-than-welcoming committee of humans.
