Synopsis:
The Avengers meet. The Wasp declares that she will run for chairperson, and is elected. Hank Pym tries to contact Tony Stark for a job, but through an unfortunate series of events, is unable to. Hank is now broke and in debt. His old nemesis, Egghead, runs into him in a bar and is able to convince him that he wants to help his niece, Trish Starr, whom he had previously tried to manipulate, leading to the loss of her arm. He offers to pay Hank $500,000 to deliver to Trish and artificial arm he has made, and attach it for her, saying she wouldn't trust him. Hank agrees, convinced of Egghead's goodwill, plus he personally checks every circuit. After Hank arrives and attaches Trish's arm, it goes out of control. Egghead's voice then tells Hank that he now has control over Trish through the arm (he was able to remotely change the circuits after Hank checked them out) and that if he doesn't do as he says, Egghead will detonate the arm, killing Trish. Trapped, Hank takes himself and Trish to a military base in Nebraska. He then forces Hank to break in and steal the nation's reserves of adamantium, which he plans to use to make an indestructible army. Hank & Trish are making their getaway when the Avengers show up. Egghead tells Hank that if he doesn't defeat the Avengers, he will detonate the arm, killing Trish. So, Hank attacks the Avengers. He puts up a good fight, trying to save Trish's life, but is eventually defeated. He tells the Avengers what happened, but Egghead has stopped transmitting his signal, and there is no physical evidence on the arm to support Hank's claim. Worse, Egghead has altered Trish's memory so that she says that everything was Hank's doing. Hank is then jailed.

Notes:
Tigra & Salvation-1 appear in flashback.
