Synopsis:
Long after her adventures with the Second Doctor had ended, Victoria writes in her journal a story that happened between the events of "The Web of Fear" and "Fury from the Deep".

One day, the trio decide to take a respite from their travels in an idyllic forest to which the TARDIS has brought them. While the Doctor and Victoria settle in to a relaxing night by a campfire, Jamie returns from a reconnaissance trip with a story of suspicious noises coming from the next valley.

The TARDIS team set out for a long walk, only to discover that the Daleks lay in wait. THey are building a massive beacon to send a message to a distant carrier ship. An invasion is imminent.

THe Doctor and Jaime, however, get intentionally captured so they can get closer to the equipment. AFter a bit of what the Ninth Doctor would call "jiggery-pokery", the Doctor and Jaime manage to program the equipment to explode. THe machine obeys the Doctor's commands, taking the Daleks with it.

Notes:
Victoria's comments at the end of the story make it possible for modern readers to view this episode as a battle in the Time War of the 2005 series of Doctor Who.
