After Ultimatum causes a huge jailbreak at Stronghold penitentiary, Freak Force, who are nearly routed by Frightening Force and their own mansion (animated by the Inhabiter), recruit Joey Finkleberry to help them. The Inhabiter and Star (who turns out to be Klaptin's limo driver) are killed in the ensuing battle, and Negate un-does Joey's powers (and Horridus', to no effect), which creates a huge explosion that ends the fight in Freak Force's favour, after Chelsea's father, who was not actually dead, switches bodies with her. Frigtening Force are captured by the authourities, Dart returns to the team after a break-up with Justice, and Freak Force returns to their old headquarters, without Klaptin's funding.
