Finding other uses for his Shadowman abilities, Jack leaves himself off-guard when he is attacked by the re-animated corpse of Clemenceau. Clemenceau returns Jack to his employer, who is none other than the infamous Master Darque. Darque has always been a powerful sorcerer, however has had his powers increase substantially following the Unity conflict. Allowing Jack a choice, Darque allows Jack and Clemenceau to settle their score once and for all, as Darque sits idly by hoping to gain even more power from the confrontation.

First named appearance of Master Darque, the villain first named as Jack's arch-nemesis in Rai #0.
