Kalla is digging a grave when the Lord High Papal and Teuton arrive from retrieving her sword: she wants to bury hundreds of corpses, but Papal lectures her on the foolishness of her acts. Mad at herself, she tries to purge her fault, but she's stopped by Papal. He then leads the trio -and a lackey named Klubb- through the desert to a cave where a spaceship is hidden: Kalla, Papal and Teuton leave planet Shakil and Klubb behind. On another planet, an old woman tells her Caldorian partner of escaping. Papal keeps fathering Kalla while, elsewhere, a smoking big fish is told the Zon want to meet him. Kalla then learns they're headed to the planet of one of the survivors of her fathers crew: as she believed everyone dead but Teuton, she gets angry at Papal. After a brief skirmish, they get to Skeevo, who recognizes Kalla as Dreadstar's daughter, calls Teuton 'Toot' and faints after greeting Papal.
