When one of their tribe is taken and tortured by the humans, the WolfRiders take him back, at the cost of one human life. The Gotara-worshipping humans, under the "guidance" of their Spirit-Man, burn the forest to clear the Holt of the alien elves. The WolfRiders, unable to reach water, escape to the Troll Caves where they are led to an exit called the Cavern of Golden Light.
