Jake is down, and Pantera gets the better of Warbride. Jake manages to get on his feet long enough to stun Pantera. Then he realizes that Maravilla must be the one who set Warbride up, and she vehemently denies it until Maravilla himself awakes and confirms Jake's reasoning. He then explains his relationship with Montoya and Pantera, and how he rebuilt Pantera after a major explosion nearly killed her. Jake gets the upper-hand, and Sid shows up to help with clean-up. The recover the stolen stolen paintings, but not before Maravilla makes another escape attempt and Warbride has to put him down with his own weapon. Jake and Sid deliver Pantera and Maravilla to the Borderland police, then return home where Beth is waiting for Jake in a restaurant. As he walks to meet her, an obviously deranged man begins muttering about killing him, and pulls a knife from his jacket.
