Notes: This story originally appeared in the pages of TV Comic featuring the Third Doctor. The artwork in the first instance was by Haylock. Canning's responsibilities in this "re-run" were to adapt the image of John Pertwee into that of Tom Baker. Unlike Canning's first attempt at "adaptation" in the previous four issues, here he's much more successful at capturing the form of the Fourth Doctor. This part of the story is notable for the debut of a new first-panel logo. Unlike the essentially typeset words "Dr. Who" which had featured over the years in TV Comic this was the first time an actual attempt at a stylized logo. Interestingly, it presaged the change that the television producers would make in 1980. Though it is unknown whether the logo here had any effect upon season 18 title designer Sid Sutton, it is interesting to note that the first "neon" Doctor Who logo debuted not at the beginning of the televised adventure, "The Leisure Hive", but right here.
