Story Arc(s): Add/remove story arcs to this issue
Boba Fett has taken the bounty on Han and Leia and is intent on collecting. Still, the couple manage to escape Fett after an extended chase through Nar Shaddaa.
Meanwhile, Lando and Wedge are busy with the World Devastators. Both the planet of Mon Calamari and the Alliance Star Destroyer Emancipator come under almost overwhelming attack. They are saved only by the World Devastator's controls being mysteriously locked out from a remote--and unknown--source.
While Wedge and Lando puzzle over these developments, the Falcon pops out of hyperspace at a point to which the Force has led Leia. Boba Fett is in close pursuit, but he miscalculates his attack run and spins harmlessly away. Leia lands the Falcon, and the crew are escorted to the Emperor's Clone Laboratories. Luke is there, but clearly wishes they had not come after him. Luke, looking more than ever like Darth Vader, now seems to have become the Emperor's new apprentice. He orders the Falcon crew stripped of their weapons. Leia objects and fires up her lightsaber. She manages to wound a guard before the amused Palpatine destroys her lightsaber. She attempts to use the Force to then knock out Luke, but it is a clumsy effort which he easily deflects. Instead, she is knocked out by Force Lightning, after which Luke has her taken away. The issue ends with Han vowing to kill Luke, and Luke grabbing Han by the throat in a style reminiscent of the way his father would dispose of enemies.
As with the rest of the issues in this series, the book also contains a 4-page text article explaining the gap between the end of Episode VI and the beginning of this series.
