Contribution History:

2010-06-04 17:09:32 Gary Peterson Synopsis RBCC was still primarily an adzine at this time (which are great fun to read) with several regular features mixed in. Appearing this issue is The Pulps (looking at The Spider), The RB-CC Information Center, Comic Collector's Comments and the first installment of BRUCE HAMILTON's column, Behind The Scenes (featuring a two-page interview with JACK KIRBY!!). Appearing this issue is The Pulps (looking at The Spider), The RB-CC Information Center, Comic Collector's Comments and the first installment of BRUCE HAMILTON's column, Behind The Scenes (featuring a two-page interview with JACK KIRBY!!). There is also a very informative and inspiring piece on G.B. LOVE reprinted from The Miami Herald.
2010-06-04 17:09:32 Gary Peterson Notes BLASTS FROM THE READERS includes letters from JEFF CAIN (San Francisco, CA), DAVE PUCKETT (Cave City, KY), DICK MOSSO (Auburn, Mass.), BOB FLEMING (Albion, NY), DEAN NEWMAN (Portland, OR), and JIM SMITH (Athens, GA). GORDON B. LOVE also opens the lettercol explaining the profile piece about him that appeared in The Miami Herald's magazine section (and that's reproduced in this issue). Among the many interesting ads: (1) a full-page comic strip ad by MARK WHEATLEY for NUCLEUS, (2) a full-page ad for The Comic Book Price Guide (1st Edition) illustrated and hand-lettered by CHESNEY & OVERSTREET; (3) a page og beautiful VINCENT MARCHESANO illustrations promoting THE SPECTRUM; (4) a full-page illustrated and hand-lettered ad for WITZEND #8; (5) a full-page comic strip by BOB FOSTER for MYRON MOOSE FUNNIES, and (6) an inside back-cover ad picturing 10 comic character watches in their packaging. And these are just a smattering of the many, many fascinating ads that amke up the bulk of this issue of RBCC.
