Synopsis
The secret origin of Ampersand! Such as it is. Amp's story starts out 5 years ago in Japan where he was born an orphan. He was injected with a mysterious serum by a doctor (whose face and name isn't given) and is earmarked for study by Allison Mann. At the airport Ampersand escaped from his cage and unlocked an adjoining one, freeing a fellow male monkey. Eventually Ampersand is sent to the helper monkey organization and the other is sent to Dr. Mann. Ampersand winds up with Yorick Brown.
After this point, time jumps forward every couple of pages to show Yorick and Ampersand's adventures in a world without men. It's revealed that he was kidnapped by someone working for a "Dr. M" (possibly Dr. Mann's father) and has escaped from her control.
