2013-02-07 02:21:41 GordonD Notes The family in the Volkswagen minibus in Chapter Two are The Greens, who appeared in a strip of that title in the Scottish underground comic "Electric Soup", written and drawn by this book's artist Frank Quitely. The strip was a parody of The Broons, which has been appearing in the "Sunday Post" newspaper since 1936: the licence plate on the minibus, G73 DDW, is a reference to Dudley D. Watkins, who wrote and drew The Broons from its beginning until his death in 1969.
