2018-04-26 13:28:44 Seth1938 Synopsis Clark and Lois are covering a trial when Superboy smashes thru a courthouse wall, shouting a challenge to Clark. Clark pretends to be trapped in rubble so that, as Superman, he can confront the intruder.

It is the very angry adult Pete Ross, occupying Superboy's body and controlling his mind. He intends to execute Superman for his crimes, and assembles a jury of Lois and other friends to deliver the death verdict. They refuse, finding no merit in Superboy/Pete's rant.

Superman breaks(!) his heavy kryptonite chains; Superboy flies into space to amass some Kryptonite meteors, but is attacked and overpowered by Krypto -- who ain't been fooled by the impersonation.

Superman hauls his younger self to Smallville in order to retrieve Pete and switch back the intellects.

2018-04-26 10:17:16 Seth1938 Notes According to the DC Universe's metaphysics, multiple versions of an entity cannot physically exist in each other's presence. Facile doubletalk usually solves ths dilemma for the sake of a story -- as happens here. Also, Kryptonite-effect inconsistencies abound.
