Black Belt Not Required - jimcripps
The notion of picking this title up when it first came out was far beyond my thoughts, but I always knew that it would be a shame if I didn't buy it. As the price of the first issue rose astronomically, reportedly at a high of $85, it had become unattainable, and regrettably unwanted. The height of the Black and White comics boon was ablaze, and this title was riding on its crowded crest. And now, 25 years later, it easy to see why.

The parody of a parody angle is spot on, and rumored to have begun here. All the cues are here, with the clichés, editor comments, action, absurdity, situations, and artwork. Even some goofs in continuity are present. Sometimes, the art doesn't flow, and the word balloons can be distracting if not outright terrible and not worth reading. But there are only a few issues to devour, and we best not talk at the table while reading.
