8/10 - Uthor
Another flashback issue showing the beginnings of the B.P.R.D. This one follows some early agents handpicked by Bruttenholm to fight some ancient vampires in France. All the guys are veterans of WWII, giving them an interesting back story. One of the soldiers ends up seduced by the vampires and entering a fake/hallucinatory world while the others try to get him back (with casualties). The art is by Ba and Moon, which I love, and works great with the story. One drew the "real" world while the other drew the "fantasy" world, their similar styles lending a nice feel of uncertainty to it all. I'm starting to dig these 194X stories, but I wish they were their own series. Being part of the main B.P.R.D. storyline kinda kills the overall pacing.
