"My inner ear is sooo itchy." - Deej
I was in my local "funnybook" store and I was toying with the idea of buying a Batman wallet. A friend of mine was trying to stop me from purchasing it, in the end he made the good solid point that my mother had bought me a Batman wallet for Christmas not the other day (It was November! what the hell? But anyway, I am now in possession of said wallet). Well I got so geared up for buying a Batman product I had to find something, and I was a little hard pressed for time by now. So I see a Batman graphic novel. I see it's written by Kevin Smith and think, well, it'll be different I guess. Goodness me, how right I was. Smith added a new light to The Dark Knight as well as the Joker without making a mockery of them. It's obvious that Mr. Smith wrote the book, especially with the "Clash Of The Titans" discussion between Maxie Zues' henchmen. In short, I cannot fault the story, the feel or the characters. Also (to give credit where credit is due) Walt Flanagan did a superb job on the artwork truely, a superb book.
