What happened to the book I was reading? - MartyPrime
I hate to say this because I don’t want to come across as a negative person … but it was a clear step down from the previous issues. The story was fine … a little Steve Trevor centric for my tastes (shouldn’t that play out in Wonder Woman and not here?) … but I enjoyed the one & done aspect of the book. It reminded me of the books loved reading when I was younger … I’m not reading Justice League International, but I truly enjoyed the reference … however that brings me to the art. I thought the art was dismal at some points and on the page where Batman talks about the JLI … um … he wasn’t there I think the artist forgot to draw him and the letterer didn’t know what to do. There were some real nice pages but most of the stuff with Trevor looked very amateurish. All in all it was still better than some of the other books I am reading … but considering it’s the DC flagship title … I feel that it should have been superior to everything and it wasn’t. As for the Shazam story in the back … that art was great … however I do not like this new Billy Batson … I hope they put him through the wringer and he comes out better for it. All the same Justice League will continue to go to the top of my stack … I just hope this was a bump in the road and not the sign of things to come.
