Reviews - Bone - One Volume Edition

A great comic book! - Snoopy
Bone is the story of Fone Bone, Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone, 3 cousins who are obliged to quit their town because of Phoney. In their escape, they lost themselves. After a while, they're separated. It's the beginning of a great adventure for the three of them!!

Jeff Smith did a wonderful work on this book. Some people compare this book with The Lord of The Rings (written by JRR Tolkien). Indeed, it's partly true. The journey has some similarities on both books. But, the author didn't make a copy of LOTR. Bone is a fantasy story, with a lot of humour, some drama, great characters... Concerning the drawings, they are wonderful. Jeff Smith succeeded in creating an original chara-design. I must add that this book is a B&W book. If you prefer a colour version, you can buy the last edition.

Concerning the book itself: This book is perfect if you want to discover this story. It compiles all the issues in one book. The pages are a little bit thin (sometimes we can see through the page). But that's not a big problem.

If you want to make an amazing trip, this book is for you!

Lord of the Rings meets Bugs Bunny - Jerkmeister
An excellant, sprawling, multiple award-winning, fantasy/humour epic fit for all ages is how I would best describe it. This volume here collects all 55 issues of the series, or the nine trade paperbacks, that took over 10 years for Jeff Smith to complete.
My recommendation? This is the perfect book to read if you've got an entire lazy weekened to kill, with nothing better to do. It will be well worth the time spent reading it and you won't have to pay a fortune for it too.
If you're a serious collector I'd go with the color reprints instead. Either way they haven't dissapointed me; the story is fantastic, and one where you'll remember and keep with you for a very long time.
