    Reviews - The Amazing Spider-Man - #538

View this issue

Civil War - fleetparadox
This particular issue of “The Amazing Spiderman” is characteristic of the Marvel style. The colors are bright and vibrant. The warm tonal qualities really give life to the characters of the comic. Along with the color, the details of the comic aren’t overwhelming and give just the right amount of wrinkles to give personality. The facial details are just right, and not overdone. I found the frames, borders, and gutters to be almost film like – very action oriented and easy to follow. Once again, these characteristics are very much a Marvel product; professional and succinct. The narrative was especially pleasing, giving personal glimpses of the characters in their “non-superhero” moments and evidencing their personal struggles. I really liked the battle between Captain American and the evolved Spiderman, an old meets new event. The clash of shield meeting web was very entertaining.
