300 in US version - wingyee
Some parts of the comic are digital image and some parts of the comic are hand-draw image. All of the characters are digital images; therefore there are lots of details and fine points in the comic. For the huge background, such as sky and sea, are drawn by hands with watercolor, so the backgrounds become so realistic. If the backgrounds are digital images, I believe the result will not be so rational. When the digital characters and hand-draw background come together, the comic contains the benefits of both. The comic can create the realistic feeling for the reader and show the detailed features of the characters.
The comic always uses two pages, which are next to each other as one whole big sheet. It provides the reader with the feeling of a painting and it makes to reader to feel the momentum of the soldiers. The frames in the comic are very random and they do not follow order. Most of the time, they overlap with each other. Therefore, the reader will know which events come first.
The comic is focus on the images because there is less conversation between the characters. Sometimes, There are some random conversation boxes on a huge background to explain the communication between soldiers. When there are serious conversations between the characters, the faces are focused in the frames. Although there is less conversation, the comic has a lot of sound effects. The comic always has the fighting sound, for example, ”kunch” to produce sound effect and create exciting feeling for the reader.
I think the color choice matches with the theme of the comic perfectly. The main colors of the comic are blue, red and yellow. They are the primary colors that create the realistic of the war and the environments.
