    SDF-1 Macross
Search for 'SDF-1 Macross' on Amazon

Bio:
A converted Zentraedi ship, the Super Dimension Fortress 1 was named Macross after the island city it crashed on in 1999 on Earth. The first commander, Captain Gloval, was instrumental in getting it ready for defending the planet from alien attack. In its first battle against Zentraedi forces, it automatically fired its main weapon, lost its anti-gravity engines, and had accidentally taken most of the island with it during a space jump near Pluto. Civilian survivors were brought inside the fortress, and the Daedalus and Prometheus ships also brought with them, were attached to the outside of the ship, thus changing its physical appearance. During the space-fold, the defense shields and main power source were lost, requiring the ship to reconfigure itself for defense against attacks and to also enable the use of the main gun. While traveling back to Earth, the citizens of Macross began rebuilding the city inside the SDF-1, and accustoming themselves to constant attacks.

After returning to Earth, the UEG decide it will be safer for the SDF-1 to remain off-planet. Capt. Gloval tries to let the Macross people off, but no government will allow them to disembark. When near Toronto, Canada, the omnidirectional explodes, annihilating the city, and killing pilot Ben Dixon.

An integral part of the success in defeating Zentraedi forces, the SDF-1 was destroyed when Khyron led a suicide attack in January 2014, ramming the ship with his own battle vessel.
