Much of the history behind this title can be found at the entry for its titular character.
Many things are unknown, or at best speculative, about this comparatively rare title. Research currently indicates that the series had a definite end date of March 1956, but that it's start date can merely be confirmed as "Spring 1950". This doubt comes from the fact that many issues were not cover dated. Issue #1 has been tentatively placed at April 1950—the result of counting backwards from the first cover-dated issue, #17, and known dates for issues 3 and 6.
Creators are also somewhat tentative for this title. The great bulk of the stories were written by Gardner Fox and illustrated by Frank Meagher. However, story-level information is not known for almost every issue. Thus Fox and Maeghar are listed at the issue level as "unconfirmed creators".
It is known that each issue was anthological in nature, and that Red Hawk backup stories appeared with some frequency. However, knowledge of these stories is currently too sketchy to warrant inclusion in most issue entries.
Finally, page counts are vague. While the title did apparently start as a 64-page publication, it probably didn't survive at that size throughout the entirety of the range. Because it's not at all known when the publication might have slimmed down, though, all issues are currently marked as having 64 pages.
