Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge   (1986)
Search for 'Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge' on eBay

Publisher: Gladstone (The Bruce Hamilton Company)

Publication Date: October 1986 - April 1990

Country: United States

Language: English

Title Continuity:
Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge (1986) #210 continues from Uncle Scrooge (1980) #209
Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge (1986) #242 continues to Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge (1990) #243

Notes:
This initial Gladstone run was historic. It was the first time in the history of the American license for Uncle Scrooge that the reigns had been handed over to a company not owned or contracted by the Western Publishing Company.

It is during this period that Don Rosa and, to a lesser extent, William Van Horn, started to point the residents of Duckburg in a new direction. While the past contributions of Carl Barks were certainly not ignored, Uncle Scrooge became a source of fresh, new material, not just a reprint-only magazine.

Just as the Gladstone creative team were starting to amass a significant body of original work, however, Disney withdrew the license and started printing Uncle Scrooge themselves.
