Doctor Who Marvel Adventure Comic   (1986)
Search for 'Doctor Who Marvel Adventure Comic' on eBay

Publisher: Marvel Comics UK (Marvel)

Publication Date: November 1986

Country: United States

Language: English

This series of six comics were included in multipacks of Golden Wonder crisps. They were mini-comics— 115mm by 145mm—and they reprinted, albeit inexactly, several stories from the Sixth Doctor's run in Doctor Who Magazine. All issues were released at the same time, but consumers had little control over which issue they would receive in a particular pack of crisps.

Interestingly, this public promotion came during the final weeks of Colin Baker's tenure as Doctor on television. He would be fired from his job while some vendors possibly still had these crisps on their shelves.

The final cut
All the stories presented here were edited down by a couple of pages from their original printing in Doctor Who Magazine.

In a few instances, characters were wholly edited out of this printing, explaining why the character listings for a given story at Doctor Who Magazine may be longer than the one given here.

They were all (badly) colorized.

The last issue, book 6, may have been particularly confusing to readers at the time. It was, in truth, parts 4 and 5 of the larger arc, "Voyager".
