The Amazing Adventures of Professor Jones   (1996)

Publisher: Antarctic Press

Publication Date: November 1996 - December 1996

Country: United States

Language: English

There is a bit of a mystery about this title. Clearly, the cover proclaims that it is Atelier Lanaʻs The Amazing Adventures of Professor Jones. Several sites agree with this bold statement, listing Lana as the main artist and writer. However, the Michigan State University comics library disagrees, giving the following listing:
Professor Jones. The Amazing Adventures of Professor Jones / story and art, Kazuaki Ishida ; translation, Kuni Kimura ; English adaptation, Elin Winkler. -- San Antonio, TX : Antarctic Press, 1996- . -- ill. ; 26 cm. -- To be complete in 4 issues. -- "Mature audiences." -- Genre: Fantasy. -- Cover title: Atelier Lana's The amazing adventures of Professor Jones. -- LIBRARY HAS: no. 1-2. -- Call no.: PN6728.6.A5A47 1996

So, is "Atelier Lana" a pseudonym for "Kazuaki Ishida"? Itʻs really quite unclear.

It is also currently unknown whether the series actually finished its run. Issues 3 and 4 may never have been printed. Until evidence is provided to the contrary, then, weʻre going to take the position that the series ended in December 1996 at issue #2.
