Notes:
PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY MORE ISSUES TO THIS TITLE
Amar Chitra Katha is not a title, but an imprint. Thus the information that has been collected to date in this "title" will have to be split off into several different titles. What is currently shown here as "issue titles" should in fact be regarded as "series titles". For example, Mahabharata is its own title published by India Book House under the Aamar Chitra Katha imprint, comprised of "issues" 329-411 (inclusive) and the 2005 special boxed set. Every issue in the list below belongs in another title; many belong in a series comprised of just that single issue, as they are one-shots. Numbering scheme Numbers associated with "issues" are not genuine issue numbers in the way that they typically used in the comics industry, but something more akin to "job numbers", as can be found on many individual stories within American anthological comics of the middle of the 20h century. Indeed, they are a kind of pseudo-chronological "product code". Those with a number below 500 are generally "regular" editions; those from 501 onward are "deluxe editions"; those from 1001 forward are special "five-in-one" issues; and those 10,001 and forward are "three-in-ones". Numbering within each "type" of release is generally chronological (for example, 10,001 was published before 10,002), but there are not 10,000 individual releases which bear the Amar Chitra Katha logo. Nor are there 500 regular editions or 9,500 "deluxe" editions. If one reads the numbering system as a standard comic issue numbering scheme, one will come away with an extremely distorted view of the total number of issues which bear the ACK logo. —DarthSkeptical (20 May 2008) THE AMAR CHITRA KATHA PROJECTObviously, trying to move all these issues into their own titles is going to take a lot of work. Anyone wishing to create a new title for each individual story line will be greatly appreciated. When youʻve created a new title, making sure to set the publisher to "India Book House" and the Imprint to "Amar Chitra Katha", please send a problem report requesting that the individual issues of this title be moved over into the newly created title. However, thereʻs much more work that needs to be done in cataloguing this imprintʻs work. A preliminary outline of those challenges can be found by clicking here.
