Recolored reprints of Classics Illustrated (1941), with newly commissioned cover art, essays and study notes.
Three all-new volumes were published: Henry IV, Part 1, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Additional original volumes were planned, but Acclaim cancelled the line and they never saw publication. The all-new volumes were reported to have included adaptations of Henry IV - Part 2, Henry V, Pride and Prejudice, Beowulf, The Awakening, King Lear, Much Ado About Nothing, Emma, The Turn of the Screw, Othello, and Dracula.
Further scheduled, but unpublished reprints of Classics Illustrated (1941) were to have included: The Deerslayer (#17), Alice in Wonderland (#49), Twenty Years After (#41), David Balfour (#94), The First Men in the Moon (#144), White Fang (#80), The Ox-Bow Incident (#125), Mutiny on the Bounty (#100), The Pathfinder (#22), The Outcasts of Poker Flat (#60), The Spy (#51), The Food of the Gods (#160), The Prisoner of Zenda (#76), Two Years Before the Mast (#25), and The Moonstone (#30).
