In the history of the King of the Royal Mounted franchise, this name change is somewhat significant. In fact, it is the only printed media which officially eschews Grey's name. The only other part of the franchise to avoid using Grey's name were films that significantly changed the name, such as The Yukon Patrol—a 1940 film derived from the 1940 serial—and King of the Mounties, the 1942 sequel serial to the original 1940 serial.
