Mark Evanier, the closest thing Kirby has to an official biographer, has written at length on his website about how Kirby came to work on a declining title
in an unregarded corner of the DCU, and how Kirby's artistic interpretations of Superman and JImmy Olsen were suppressed by DC.

While apparently a solo title, in fact the backup stories in this anthological series sometimes had nothing to do with Jimmy Olsen.

No issue in this title had only one story. Therefore the title of the first story should not be confused with the title of the issue as a whole.
