Notes:
German edition of ドラゴンボール (Doragonbōru).
"Dragon Ball" was the first manga in Germany that was published as pocket books and in the left-to-right format.
The series was initially offered to competitor Ehapa but there the higher-ups decided that nobody would buy a comic that had to be read "backwards". When DB became a huge success for Carlsen they at least managed to get the license for the similar popular Sailor Moon as well as Ranma 1/2 although both titles (as well as several others) were printed in the left-to-right format and were translated from the French editions.
To this very day DB remains a strong seller for the publisher who also holds the rights to One Piece and Naruto.
In 2009 they also launched a new edition, reprinting 2 volumes each in a slightly smaller format.
